Update: Charlie and Sweet Pea aren't as bonded as we first believed. Of course we'd still love to place them together, but it doesn't look like it's necessary anymore. The move has been tough on both of them. Charlie now responds to attention and has learned to relax around the other cats. Sweet Pea is a very sweet but very shy girl and will need a special adopter with the patience to bring back her confidence and sweetness. They are both adoptable but going back into foster care for awhile for some special TLC. Another sad story: Stunning Charlie and Sweet Pea are bonded siblings who were adopted as kittens from LAPCATS a year ago (July xxxx). We dont have the specifics, but they are coming back because their adoptive family could not find a rental home that accommodated their large family and pets. The two are confused as you can imagine, but they were lucky enough to be adopted together initially and we want to keep it that way so they will continue to have each other. The family said the return was strictly logistics: they are great cats! Both cats are affectionate and fun and wonderful with children. They were born at the shelter to a beautiful calico mama. She had a litter of four. Sweet Pea was the first to groom another of her siblings, hence her name. Charlie has a Charlie Chaplin mustache, so thats how he got his name. The two were the kindest and sweetest of the whole litter. They are large cats, probably part Maine Coon, and--well have you ever seen more beautiful tails? They are spayed and neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, have been tested for FELV/FIV, treated with a flea preventative, have been de-wormed and are micro-chipped. The $100.00 adoption fee also includes a county license for Sacramento County residents, a free office visit with a participating veterinarian and other complimentary items.
